Job Summary: Director, Sales and Business Development Metallurgical Group
Location: Welland – The Director, Sales and Business Metallurgical Product Group will be responsible for the strategic direction, development, and commercialization of metallurgical products, with a strong focus on driving sales growth. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in metallurgy, leadership skills, and a strong understanding of market dynamics to effectively position our products in the marketplace.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic vision for the Metallurgical Product Group, aligning product offerings with corporate goals and market opportunities.
- Create and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets, expanding market share and driving penetration in key sectors.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers, sales professionals, and product managers, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify customer needs, competitive landscape, and emerging trends, utilizing insights to refine product strategies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and industry stakeholders, gathering feedback to enhance product offerings and drive customer satisfaction.
- Delivers technical and engineering information by responding to inquiries from customers and the engineering team
- Manage budgets and financial performance for the product group, ensuring profitability while optimizing development and operational costs
- Gains customer acceptance by explaining or demonstrating cost reductions and operations improvements.
- Thorough understanding of PLC control systems with PID loops, HMI’s and instrumentation
- Reviews control system functional specifications and helps creates proposal control system functional specifications
- Participates in exhibits at company tradeshows
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed, recommending options and courses of action, and implementing directives.

- Submits orders by conferring with technical support staff and costing engineering changes.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Able to manage projects from very small parts orders, to large capital equipment orders
- Proven track record in a leadership role, successfully driving product strategies and sales growth.
- Strong understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive positioning in the metallurgical industry.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in budget management and financial analysis.
- Must have strong presentation skills along strong technical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A valid passport and the ability to travel without restrictions is required.
- Carry a class “G” drivers license.
Education and Experience:
- Post Secondary Education in Electrical Engineer or Technologist with Professional designation such as P.Eng or CET, Power Transmission and Distribution, Metallurgy, Materials Science, Business, or a related field;
- 5+ years of industry experience within a foundry and/or melt shop environment with a strong emphasis on product development and sales management.

Job Summary: Shop / Road Technician
Location: Welland, Ontario. As a Shop / Road Technician, YOU will experience:

In a typical day, YOU will:
- Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours at all times, in support of Whiting’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using Trackmobile testing equipment
- Repair and service Trackmobile and all heavy equipment within the established standards
- Prepare accurate service and repair reports in a timely manner
- Maintain excellent customer relations through frequent communication
- Undertake assignments as required in support of customer needs
Must-haves for this role:
- A valid Technician License 421A, 310T, 310S or any other license relative to this position, following Provincial standards
- Minimum 3 years of experience in repair and service of heavy equipment both in the shop and in the field
- Familiarity with Can Bus systems
- A valid Driver’s License (DZ License preferred), or willing to obtain.

- Experience in FCAW, GMAW, SMAW welding processes is a requirement and any educational course’s related to fitting would be an asset.
- To be able to multi task and assist with other roles when required.
- Must be technically strong in blueprint reading and fluent in weld symbols
- Strong background in structural fitting and welding will be considered as equivalent
- If not certified a minimum of five years experience in fitting and welding of structural assemblies.
- Previous or currently ticketed with CWB an asset.
- Able to lift a minimum 22kg/50lbs.
