Hopper Car Washing

At the washing station, an underhung crane lowers into the car and a washing wand equipped with a roto jet nozzle that sprays 140 gallons (630 litres) of water per minute through four jet outlets at 400 psi (27 bar) of pressure.

Below, Whiting underhung cranes are lowered into the first car on the left track. The 48-car cut on the right track is being advanced in two-car increments by Whiting ROBOTS. Trolleys will traverse to wash cars on the right track while the cut on the left is being advanced.
